Awesome hole in the wall oyster house. Oysters were fresh and just as cold as their beer. Good beer selection, including a nice Stout. Service was fast and fun to get a little local history, but paid attention to everyone else while doing it...a trait of a great bartender. Bartender knew everyones story, even introduced my wife and I to another couple that live in the same city that we didnt know. Live music outside in their little courtyard was pretty nice as well. Hard to beat their gulf oysters. Parking: Easy parking on a large surface lot right across the street.

Absolutely the best! I sat at the bar where I got phenomenal service, drinks, and food. The Oysters on the Half Shell were excellent, even though it is still early in the season. Good sized and nice and briny. I also enjoyed my new favorite, Oysters Bienville; baked oysters topped with crab and shrimp in a white wine sauce, with a sprinkling of bacon on top. My last item was the Crawfish Cheese Fries, which was a meal in itself. I have eaten at a lot of oyster bars all over the US, and AJs ranks high in the top 10% of my travels.

The crawfish étouffée is the Beyoncé of the menu absolutely stealing the spotlight. The gumbo? Solid, but definitely playing Kelly Rowland to the étouffées star power. Honestly, I regret not double-dipping on the crawfish.

Wow, outing with friends. Wanted a God local restaurant for steak and seafood. AJS was all my friend directed towards. Steak n prime rib was excellent with a crawfish topping for prime rib. Both delicious. Shrimp n catfish was tasty and great size by friend who had it. Sorry forgot pictures of fried green tomatoes n zucchini. Strawberry cheesecake and specialty banana pudding AWESOME!!!! Portions were HUGE and reasonable prices. Service was awesome...definitely going again.

Please do yourself a favor and just go eat here! The shrimp was to die for. The catfish was even better. They put some sort of sauce on the po boys that we all ended up asking for more of to dip our fries in. The atmosphere of the restaurant was awesome and the staff was extremely great! Absolutely recommend.

We stopped in before continuing our road trip, glad we did! It was a Saturday and there was plenty of parking available in the dirt lot across from the intersection. I got the Shrimp & Grits and it was very good. Nice touch with sauteed spinach on the grits. Took home half and it was very good later.

From begin to end amazing! Outstanding flavor! The ingredients were as if they came from the pantry at home. The flavors were explosive from start to finish! BANANA PUDDING! Delicious. Not to forget about the treatment from the staff was like being at your best friends house. All around great!. Must try!

AJs Oyster House is THE restaurant youve got to visit for lunch or dinner while in Fort Smith. The food is delicious, service is beyond friendly (thank you Katie) and the vibe is really cool! The prices are also reasonable. The oysters are tasty and since I live in Massachusetts, Im a good judge of quality oysters. The gumbo is extraordinary also and be sure to try the crabcakes you see in this photo with the AJs on it. Enjoy!
